About the role:

Due to continued growth, we now have a brand new opportunity for a Lead Technician based out of our site in Scunthorpe.

With proven leadership experience in an engineering environment, you have a sound understanding of what is required to guide a team of both mechanical and electrical technicians. You will work closely with production, operations and technical to improve engineering standards and efficiency across the site.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving the shift from the front, you will lead by example in this key role, taking an active hands-on approach to all engineering tasks
  • Take responsibility to ensure smooth handover between shift changes
  • Work closely with Production Area Managers to identify opportunities for planned maintenance and remedial works
  • Create detailed Root Cause Analysis reports for all major stoppages to facilitate resolution and prevention
  • Work closely with Area Managers to identify and address key production issues, developing effective action plans and ensure timely acquisition of critical spares

A little bit about you:

  • A recognised engineering qualification in either mechanical/electrical or multi-skilled
  • Previous engineering leadership experience within a food manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out training need assessments and creating personal development plans
  • Strong understanding of PLC’s and computer controlled equipment
  • Excellent fault-finding abilities and Root Cause Analysis experience
  • The ability to engage, mentor and drive an engineering shift team

What to expect in return:

This role will operate on a 4on 4off shift pattern 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00 (two days, two nights, four off). We will provide you will all the tools you will require to succeed in this role, alongside access to training and personal development.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
