At Tayto Group we need the very best to add value to our business and become part of our on-going success, therefore we are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join us in Scunthorpe.

Job Purpose:

Provide Technical Leadership and Technical Services to the Site Manufacturing operation to ensure that all finished goods fully comply with all Customer and Business Policies, Procedures, Product Standards, Manufacturing Specifications and Quality Management system.

Maintain the Quality Management system and implement group requirement supported by effective process control. To manage the daily running of the Quality Department and personnel, overseeing food safety, quality and hygiene requirements within all areas of the site.

Key Technical Responsibilities:

Manage product integrity and major retailer relationships at a senior level, be an influential member of a cross-functional site management team, play a prominent role in the growth, development and reputation of Tayto Group Ltd. Manage the site technical function, support and drive the development of the site technical teams.

Ensure the on-going certification to BRC, compliance with retailer standards and other legislative standards at the highest possible levels, ensure customers quality and technical requirements are achieved for successful product launches; ensure compliance with retailer codes of practice, participate in industry body working groups.

Key Requirements:

You must be an effective Manager, with the vision to develop and lead the Site’s Technical team to support accelerating sales growth. You will be a technical professional, with food manufacturing experience, and have the ability to develop effective relations across key internal and external customers including major retailers.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Degree, HND or similar in a food related subject – essential
  • Three years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role with the ability to learn the other facets as required
  • Understanding of the supply chain, specific customer requirements, basic food testing methods, food safety issues, labelling, weights and measures, COSHH, HACCP, BRC and basic pest control
  • Numerate and literate
  • PC literate
  • Influencing skills
  • Auditing experience
  • Experience of continuous improvement techniques, managing self/others/teams
  • Excellent time management
  • Self motivated

£60,000
