Job Description

 

We have a new opportunity for a General Manager (Pork Manufacturing) with the UK’s largest family owned snack manufacturer and market leader in the UK’s Pork Snack market.

Reporting into the Group Head of Operations this is a key role within the Operations Senior Management team. The successful candidate will enjoy full leadership responsibility for the Pork Manufacturing footprint, as well as leading and coaching a multifunctional team to improve the manufacturing processes. The role encompasses responsibility for Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Technical/Quality and H&S across the three pork snack sites.

Critical to success in the role will be the close links forged with Commercial and Supply Chain peers to deliver customer satisfaction and business growth.

The position is based from our Westhoughton site, near Bolton with travel to our other pork sites in Tamworth and Wolverhampton. Travel to other Tayto Group sites will be required on occasion.

The Person

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience of a food manufacturing in particular meat processing. Experience of the snack sector will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable, practical knowledge and implementation of modern manufacturing techniques
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels from the shop floor to the boardroom
  • Ability to react positively to the wider business issues and demonstrate the ability to adapt effectively to the commercial demands of the business / market place
  • Successful delivery of change management & KPI’s
  • Track record of supporting and delivering a continuous improvement philosophy
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent (preferably within engineering/food tech)
